Walk Among the Planes That Will Forever Represent Our Quest For Freedom

There are numerous war movies, history books and stories handed down from servicemen and women about how warplanes played a significant role in our fight for freedom over the years. Now is your opportunity to walk among some of those planes and experience up close the beauty and silent strength that earned them our respect and gratitude.

“Warbirds on Parade” will be held at the Lancaster Airport, Beltline Road at Ferris Road, Between I-45 and I-35 on August 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Suggested donation is $10 a carload or $5 per person, so bring the family, a friend or a whole carload. This year’s event is bigger and better than ever before!

Approximately 40 warbirds will attend this static event (come early and stay late to see the warbirds fly in and out). Some of those expected will be “Diamond Lil” (B-24 Liberator, oldest airworthy B-24 flying today), Soviet Era equipment such as a Hind 24 Soviet gunship, CJ-6, Mil-2 helicopter, L-29 and L-39’s.

Bombers, fighters, cargoes and trainers will also be in attendance. Assorted military vehicles, re-enactors/living history groups, period displays, and over 100 antique/classic cars. The list goes on but you need to come out and experience it for yourself. You will be able to book airplane rides for flights following the event (after 4p.m.) or at a later date.
